2002
The Big Chill organisers approached Jam Events 6 weeks prior to their 7000 strong "Enchanted Gardens" festival in 2002. The remit was to manage the bars, bring a stronger sense of order and efficiency to them and to increase turnover. We introduced stricter staff, stock, cash and product control systems than had been used before. At the end of the event we were highly complimented by the festival manager for our ability to adapt quickly and well, by the finance manager for maintaining well-balanced accounts and invited by all to work with them again for the next event.

Preparations for the 2nd festival of the year began immediately. Working closely with the festival manager, our work involved the planning, positioning and building of all bar structures, making sure all contractors delivered and installed fully working equipment on time and ensuring all areas conformed to Health & Safety regulations and relevant Trading Standards. We were also responsible for ensuring that all staff were fully trained and briefed about their responsibilities in particular and the event in general and making sure that appropriate communication channels were put in place to allow for efficient running of the event.

During the event we were on hand at all times to support the relevant managers. Finally when the event ended we were responsible for checking back all equipment and stock, making sure all monies were accurately accounted for and that the site was left in a clean and environmentally safe state.
