Jam Events were approached by Chris Greenwood of Champion Sound to work with them to provide bar services within the Bassline Circus big top at Stokefest Festival 2007 (www.stokefest.co.uk). We were one of 5 bars across the event and were working independently from the others. The one-day free event was in its 3rd year and attracted a crowd of around 25 000. We were working with Robin from Bassline Circus as well as organisers from the event so communication was key to the smooth running of the event. We were very aware that the bar was the only revenue generator to pay for the total costs for the area. This included tent hire, DJs and artists, some equipment and all bar costs.

The Bar structure itself was already provided and therefore Jam Events were only required to supply bar equipment such as a refrigerated truck, ice buckets and pourers, the staff and stock. We worked with Etienne P from Cantaloupe Group on stock acquisition and were able to maintain a high GP allowing us to provide the revenue required to cover the above costs.

The event was a great success. The Stokefest production crew as well as Bassline Circus were happy with our work, all costs were covered and a healthy profit was made. We look forward to running this concession again in 2008.
